Counselor in Training (CIT)

Counselor in Training (CIT) must be 14 year of age and 15 years of age can work as a paid staff member.
Counselor in Training (CIT) wishing to serve more than one week will be evaluated at the end of each week on whether they will continue on into additional week(s).

This program comes in two weeklong parts. The first part consists of the counselor in training (CIT) rotating around each of the areas and getting a taste of what that area entails as a full member of the staff. The CIT will be evaluated by each area director with a summative evaluation on Thursday evening. Afterward, the CIT will be given a choice of which yard that they would like to return to on Friday morning and the afternoon off to enjoy the Reservation (fish, hike, visit the trading post, etc.).

The second part will have the CIT, along with the Key Three and Area Directors, pick an area that they would like to work in during the full week of camp. During this second part, the CIT will need to complete several tasks and milestones, under the watchful eye of the Area Director.

Upon completion of the first part of the program and arriving at the second part, the CIT will be given a staff lanyard with their name on it. After completion of both parts and with approval of the Key Three of the camp, the CIT will be given a staff hat and corresponding camp-specific shirt, as well as an application for the following year.
